Our Story
Three friends, one conviction: education is a right, not a privilege.
How it all began
In a modest neighbourhood on the East Coast of the United States, three friends sat talking: Brian, a proud Connecticut native, and Janessa and Vicky, who both come from Africa. They were already supporting a group of children as varied as the community around them, and they wondered how they could do more.
That informal conversation became the Educate the Children Foundation. From the very first day the three agreed on a clear purpose: the Foundation would stand as a testament to the power of education, and to their belief that it is an undeniable right, not a privilege.

- Also from Africa, and shares the founders' passion for equality in education.
Why it matters to us
This journey is deeply personal for each of us. We share a passion for social equity, and we are determined that every child gets an equal chance at an outstanding education.
We have a long record of speaking up for that cause. We see the barriers to education not as walls, but as openings where doors can be built. In boardrooms and classrooms alike, we have watched young minds outshine the hardest circumstances once they were given the chance.
Our pledge
The Foundation is our shared dream in action. It carries the stories of countless children who reach for the stars from behind clouds of hardship.
It is also a pledge to those children: however wide the ocean or far the savannah between us, we will bring the world within their reach through education.
